Kids Haven is a Non-Profit Organisation founded in 1992 by Moira Simpson as a response to increasing numbers of children on the streets of Benoni in Ekurhuleni to reach out to them. Kids Heaven provides love and shelter in a nurturing, secure environment, give guidance, therapy, training and support so that the children can take their rightful place in the community.

Kids Heaven started using Soweto Care System in 2013 to capture all the street children enrolled in their programs, real-time reports from the system are used to measure impact made in a child’s life. Realization of programs objectives are measured through the system. Staff use different contact approach for each child based on the individual assessment report from the system for each child. Of interest from one of the reports are stats showing parental issues (broken families) as the number one key driver behind the high number of kids in the street, then substance abuse and peer pressure. This greatly informs future program planning.
